Jay Zinn ~ The Black Bear Lodge ~ Primitive Fine Folk Art

Jay Zinn was born in Dayton, Ohio, and grew up in the small farming community of New Carlisle. He attended the Dayton Art Institute and the Central Academy of Commercial Arts in Cincinnati. After finishing school he served in the United States Air Force where he became a Christian on January 9, 1972.

Though he grew up with a dream to become an artist for Disney, God had a different course planned for his life and called him to preach in June of 1973. Jay was ordained as a pastor on November 1976. Jay is a graduate of Logos Christian College and Graduate Schools in Jacksonville, Florida. He holds a Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies, a Master’s degree in Theology, a Doctorate of Ministry, and a Ph.D. in Theology.

Jay currently lives in Davidson, NC where he is a pastor at his third church, River’s Edge. Jay is the author of the novel, The Unveiling (WinePress Publishing, 1997), an interpretive fiction of the Book of Revelation.

Throughout his pastoring years Jay maintained his love for art and has been published by two decorative art publishers. He continues to paint for Penny Lane with his prints selling in the national and international market. His paintings depict coastal and lodge themes. He has been the featured artist in two trade magazines and his images have been advertised in Spiegel Catalog and Potpourri.

Jay is a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He has been married to his only bride, Roseann, since May 11, 1974. They have two adult children and a granddaughter named Michaela.
